I got this bass nearly a year ago. The previous owner of this old bass had spray painted over it's original colour (candy apple red). It was such a shoddy job that there was even paint on the pickguard, neckplate, fretboard (!!?!??!), and neck.  I figured that certainly couldn't do worse than it was.

The only major problem was that I was unable to remove the neck (dunno if it was glued, or if the the layers of paint that had previously been sprayed on had stuck it tight. This caused some problem with sanding by the edge of the neck, but it still looks pretty good.

I probably could have done with about another 5 coats of lacquer, but I was impatient and wanted to use it. So maybe another day, I'll add a couple more coats.
